Today I ordered a headunit and fronts for my ride.
I decided to go with Alpine 7998 and some Type R 6.5" component set.
Im ordering two 10" Type Rs and amps later. Dont know which ones to get yet. But its going to be all Alpine.
Starting tomorrow with installing all cables and mounting the front speakers after work.
Its nice to work in a car audioshop. Dont need to pay anything yet.

NEW INFO!!!

I installed the speakers in the front doors yesterday.
The Type R 6,5 did not fit. Not even if I had cut in the door.
So I installed some Macrom EXT 6.0. I used a sledgehammer and smacked a little bit in the door (Damn it was hard. Didnt show anything difference).
They fitted at last. No cutting in the doorpanel or the door.

ive got some macrom speakers as well that i had never used, ecs 2.60's. also got a macrom amp, syntech something, 75x4. how good/bad are these, theyre not too big in the US. what are they comparable to??

Low: I dont know about your setup, havent heard these components in action.

Macrom front speakers are much used in Norway. But Im very sad that the Type Rs didnt fit. I wanted a complete Alpine system.:sad:

Very good chioce on the 7998. That is the HU I really want once my car stereo mods begin. Decided on any amps yet?

Got the 7998 today. Awesome piece of machinery.

Ghostrider: Maybe Im going for two MRD-M500 and one MRV-F540.
Im going to use the monoamps for the two 10s and the 4 channel bridged on the Macrom sets in the front doors.

I have changed my mind. Im not going for the 4 channel. Im going for the largest 2 channel V12.
