pretty much.
there are plenty of people now who install the reinforcement kit with industrial grade aircraft epoxy. so no welding or hassle with gas tank. you can even do a preventative application of the epoxy foam that BMW uses in the crevice that the mounting block sit in and it's even easier. i think it's two holes from the top in the trunk compartment and fill per bmw instructions and allow to cure 24hr.
