Temperature 37F and car beeped?

ok i was driving with my dash computer displaying the temp. all of a sudden i hear a beep and the temp is flashing 37F. My question is why did it beep and flash at 37F?

I just got my car and it was concerning me what all that beeping was about. I live in balmy Canada and it beeps/flashes at 3 degrees celcius I think. Good to know what that is for!

It's in the manual soemwhere. It's annoying as hell. I drove from LA to SF for the Thanksgiving weekend it it would fluctuate at around 37 degrees. That meant every few minutes, it would beep. Stupid thing. Couldn't figure out hwo to turn it off either.
