I'd suggest updating this- as it sort of assumes that sport springs are fitted- listing only sport shocks/struts. The throw is wrong for anyone with standard springs, so those with comfort suspension might need to know to they should only buy standard shocks/struts for the std height springs, and sport shocks/struts when using >10mm lowered springs.

You can confirm all the correct parts for your car here- Sachs, like all the other ZF brands all have well maintained catalogues, listing all their latest part numbers:

Also, some tips for installing given so many of us are using and abusing impact wrenches instead of pure muscle now:

I've used Sachs on my own E46s with great success for a while. Now I only use this, or Koni when absolutely required. Also used Sachs on several Japanese vehicles recently, each time just standard fitment, and each time been impressed as the construction quality is well above the usual OEM product. On the outside the weld and powder coating is clearly better, and the ride was massively improved over what I'd expect 'normal gear' to deliver my customer.

Many seem to come with automatic valving and other technical improvements too, so alone this is a good reason to preference Sachs over other brands if they aren't retrofitting with new tech.
