This air guide can leak air and that slip fit is normal. Plumbing after the airbox must be airtight. Properly secure with the 3 clips all's well.

Dont tape it. It comes apart for filter checks. Also, if air is pulled in there. Its relieving intake resistance. So on balance its a positive.
