guys,

pulled out my intake manifold today to do the M54B30 swap and noticed that my intake valves are super clean. check it out. However, I am a little concern with seeing oil residue around the valve. is this normal?

Its normal, inside my manifold was also covered in a film of oil. I was told by master zolti that it is quite normal for blowback. use some brake cleaner on the manifold to clean out all the oil.

If you want a super clean Intake then vent the Crank case gases to the atmosphere. That equals no oil residue and a better A/F mixture.

a little oil is OK. it's probably from the removal of the intake. If you're not having oil consumption issues, it's nothing to be concerned with.

Master zolti also recommended valve work but told me it wasn't super urgent.
