I know the law passed in 09.. But if you have recently purchased an m3, can this still apply. My friend bought one a year ago, and his mechanic said there is a subframe crack. i did some reading, and found the law and called the dealership and they said they would inspect it... Has any resolved their issue, and got it fixed past 2009 mark..

I called BMWNA a month ago. They said the recall expired but they are still looking to help people with the issue. You have to pay for the inspection, then go from there. Heard they would keep your car for months though. (that's if the crack is bad enough)

thanks... local shop said they would repair it for a grand.. M3 shop.. but still thats one g that can go towards the pocket if the recall exists

Not a recall per se, it was part of a class action lawsuit settlement. It has long since expired. You can always see if a dealer will "goodwill" it, but unlikely.

Indie shops can turn the fix/reinforcement around fairly quick.

It was never a recall - it was a settlement. Your are (IIRC) two years past the closing of the settlement period. Chances BMW will pay for it are limited.
