So after MUCH deliberation but knowing there was really only 1 wheel for me, having seen a few others, I got my E38 Style 32's.

These pics are just after getting the tyres on so excuse dirt etc, I'll clean it all up and post some better ones later.

I've 215/40/18 Nankang NSII all round and the stretch outback is only moderate, nothing major which is great. I will need to roll the rear arches though as it's catching slightly on ramps and bumps.

I have indeed but tbh I haven't seen enough close up pics of the stretch from different angles . Did you use the 215s all round . I was going to use 215/40/18 on the front , and 225/40/18 on the rear if it's the eight inch wheels all round or if I fit the 9s on the rear then maybe 243/35/18 . Didn't really want to roll the arches or muck about too much as the car's so original . Who did the rear arches on yours . Have you more pics ? Yourself really does look brilliant .

And here's another of mine

I did the arch roll myself, hired a proper arch roller locally for a day. You can get it done in red Motorsport in Dublin for €70 I believe. It would not affect a nice original car as it will look the very same, just be sure the paint doesn't crack. There is some sealer inside the arch lip that needs to be removed first and it's seriously hard. I got mine out with a dremel and various attachments. You need to reseal after with an under body sealer but that's simple.

I don't think you'll get a 245/35 under there, fellas have tried all sorts and usually end up getting rid of the wheels as they're too much hassle. Go with the 215/40 and a slight roll and save yourself weeks of torment !

If you're not lowered however it won't look great, I'm on eibach sport line springs which I was hoping was low enough to pull off the look rather than go coil overs. I'm happy with how it stands as is. Coilovers would look a touch better but it's a daily car and I just get over speed bumps and ramps etc as it is when fully loaded. Any lower and it will cause problems.

I think I made this exact point earlier in this thread. People have tried all sorts of setups and failed. The only route for no hassle is a light roll on the rear arches and 215/40 Nankang NS2 or Falkens. Anything else is headaches and heartaches ***128534;

If you're genuinely going to sell the wheels let me know please, I might invest in a spare set.

I'm going to have a look at how it sits with 8s all round , if that's workable then I'll most likely go that route . The 9s on the rear are seeming les likely by the day . Problem is the car is so original I don't want to go over the top just for the looks . If the 8s all round don't do it for me then I'll consider changing to style 32 deep dish 17s from an E39 540i . Here's a picture of a set on a convertible . They fit no problem .

And if I'm selling the set I've already got then you can have first refusal on them . It's a full set of fi e wheels , three 8" including what would have been an original spare wheel and two 9" for the rear . The 8" ones are all fairly good but the 9" ones are rougher . They ideally need a refurb and I'd already lined up a mate to do the job at a reasonable price . They have no cracks and have never been welded .
They weren't cheap though so I'd need to recoup what I paid or else they'll end up on eBay .

The convertible looks like it's on 18's?

As far as I know the 5 series ones have a different centre bore to the rest of the BMW range of that era and will need spigot rings, not sure about the offset but should be ok. You won't find too many with that set up.

Let me know what you do and if you end up with 2 9's left over I might be interested.
