I have a 2001 325i and my steptronic is not working. I can still move the shifter sideways out of drive into steptronic but the car does not respond. The light does not indicate it is on and nothing appears on the dash. I can still move the shifter up and down but still no response! Help!

there is a switch on the under the gear knob boot that detects the position of the shifter. it might be broken/need readjust.

Selling brand new steptronic e46 gear shift assy

I bought from BMW OEM 05 325i part number 25167515261. Would be willing to sell for only 400. Brand new, opened box to show pics. Turned out to be neutral safety switch and didn't need.

Fixed it, turned out to be a shorted out wire, thanks anyways though
