I have a 2002 330Ci Sport package with 56,000 miles on it. It is indeed a steptronic which was not my first choice but I couldnt let it go for the price and condition the car was in, I do plan on modifying it regardless of it not being a manual.
If you have a step, post up a picture.
What are your current mods?
What are your future mod plans?
What is your year, model and mileage?
Overall I am happy with the car and here she is bone stock
Mine is in my sig happy automatic...Its all stock with a few factory upgrades like the aerodynamics package and strut brace...the only non factory parts i have on it are the clear reflectors and clear turn signal lights
I bought a step trans too and i'm very happy with it. Would of been a lot more fun to have a manual but its still a pleasure to drive everyday.
Here's my 2005 325i sports package, pretty much bone stock other than the grill, some LED angel eye rings, CF hood and trunk roundels, and my smoked out lights. I am currently looking for some rims, the M tech II body kit, and maybe some splitters to give it more of a sporty look. Maybe one of those vented hoods too!

^325 looks great except the black corners. very nice picture of your car. is that yellow building in the background your home? would be interested to see what the inside of a german apartment looks like
Yea i've been told that about my corners, i might switch them out for clears later haha. That run down yellow building behind my car with the mini keg in the front doorway is actually my barracks haha and i'll tell you one thing, it aint much to look at! My room on the other hand is pretty squared away though, i'll post pics soon because they are your typical German designed apartments.
I have one. I don't really like it. Don't get me wrong, as automatic transmissions go, it's not bad, but it isn't right for how I use my car. I would gladly trade for a manual.
I think the exterior photo was shot before I got nice new headlight lenses.
And I also have a manual shift boot. If anything it adds a little extra storage for small items.
Really digging the dig pic. As far as the step goes I think it's not terrible to me the biggest draw back of an auto is not being able to be in the right gear whenever you want
Bought my 2000 Touring new. If I had wanted a manual transmission, I could have saved myself about 1700 bucks. I happened not to want the cheap way out. Mine has 74K on the clock. Oh, no mods, now or ever. Why? I doubt if either you are I are as good as the factory designers or engineers. They didn't create the Ultimate Driving Machine by accident. Why would you want to fuk up what they did?
Bought myself out of high school and has become my project ever since.
2001 330ci 135k step

Step owner here... picked up my 2000 323i in April with 137k miles and I'm closing in on 146k now. Just replaced the control arms and bushings with Meyle HD, replaced the foggy headlight lens, motor mounts, fan clutch, new tires, and a new vapor barrier. Car is covered in small dings, some scratches but it still shines up really nice. Car is a joy to drive (even more with the new control arms) and I get compliments on it all the time. I'll be doing a cooling system overhaul at the end of the year and I'll also do some more suspension work.
Steptronic checking in. I would definitely like to get into a manual for my next car, but as far as automatics go, I love it. There's a trick to making it smooth while in Steptronic mode. BMW e46 330Ci w/ Rotora BBK by Center SpotLight Media (SoloEuro), on Flickr

Car is gone now...but I had no issue with my 2004 325......kinda miss it sometimes. And yes, it was a step...and yes, I had my fluids changed out at 70 miles. And yes....it was a full Dinan point car. SULEV also.....LOL.
Also...do not PM me on where I got the stuff, all came from sponsors of this site, please search the old threads for my user name for details I no longer have the car. Sold it for 13K a few years ago.
2005 325i Auto/step with m56 sulev engine... I like to live dangerously.
Mods:
Homemade intake + heat shield
Projector hid retrofitted headlights.
Interior LED swap
Clear lighting all around
Golf Tee mod
Carbon fiber roundels (shut yo mouf)
I love it. You can pick exactly the gear you want anytime you want.. and when you don't want... no need. The biggest trick is to get comfortable using it early and often.
2005 325i. Bought it back in 2006 with 30k km now it is at 176k km.
Current mods include:
MTech 2 bodykit
Lip Spolier

Future:
keep it running - stay on top of maintenance..E46Mango has good writeups
transmission swap :eeps:
I simply could not find a manual 330 that I was happy with, so I bought my 325cic thinking that I'd upgrade later. I hope to be looking for a 330 manual coupe ZHP in the near future.
