reviving! anyone else doing a lot of work on their cars? San Diego feels lonely
Spent close to 8k since Sept 2020 (no diy since I don't have time nor a garage). Got the subframe done, bushings all around, LSD, all tubes and hoses, and worked out kinks with the VF supercharger. At this point, I just have cosmetic stuff to fix. Gonna wait another year or two to repaint since that'll be a 5-6k expense. Wrapping seemed like a good idea until I saw removal destroying people's clear coat.

Completely irrational spending but I remember showing up to meets in 05-09 wishing I had the money to do these mods. Now that I finally have a little, that's what I'm doing.

where did you stay? ferry over?
did you get around by golf cart?
i'm just looking into it now
I took the Catalina Flyer over and we did rent a cart to get around. I’ve hiked the island and camped too. I’ve never stayed in a hotel there though.

trying to decide between catalina island and santa barbara
thinking SB might just be easier for now
Are you a drinker? If you’re into bar hopping, etc., Santa Barbara will be the better option.

i'll be with my wife and 20 month old baby
so bar hopping is not on the menu
just looking for a quiet weekend getaway with a change of scenery
I would still go with Santa Barbara under those circumstances.

When I went to catalina island it was pretty chill compared to santa barbara which is more for wine shenanigans and since it's geared more towards tourist, might be better suited for that
