I recently picked up a used E46 M3 cluster on this site. It was for a 6-spd manual, and my 325ci is a manual also. I plugged it into the car and everything worked; rpm, water temp, gas, oil temp, etc. The only problem is that it has 32,000 miles on it and it says -4,900 for oil service.
Now, I have 1,300 miles on my new 325ci and it has like 13,900 left until the oil service.
I took it back out and called my dealer today hoping they would be kind enough to change the odometer and oil tracker for me. They said, this can't be done and I would have to buy a new one. I told them to shove it. I was wondering if anyone one here had some information regarding the process of re-coding the instrument cluster so I could bring it in and show them what they had to do and that it is indeed feasible.
Anyone have any info about recoding the instrument cluster, 'cause otherwise everything else works fine.
