I saw the dyno sheet on m3 w/ pulleys, not much of hp gain (maybe only 3 to the wheels). Wonder anybody here with pulley tell how they perform? Well, If I do go with pulleys that means I can't go with aftermarket sounds system. Is that true?
u can get pulleys that underdrive the alternator and pulleys that dont. the gains seem to be minimal on the m. i wouldn't buy them. from what i've read, its a love it or hate it thing. i might drop the 200 for them.. but only after i do other mods.
There's actually 2 kinds of pulleys that you can get, one that pulls a lot of power from the alternator, and another that doesn't pull as much, that way your system can still run properly.
From what I've heard, pulleys make a big difference, even on our non-///M E46s...it lets the engine rev the way it was meant to. I was quoted about $400 for pulleys from Evosport in Huntington Beach; I wouldn't say its a total waste. I think mods like "hyper-white" bulbs are more of a waste.
