I just scored a deal on a set of lightly used Sparco seats for my e46 coupe. I have been reading around but can't quite decide the best route for seat mounting. I want the seats to be on sliders for easy adjustment and not break the bank. Wedge brackets seem like a good deal but sit too high and too the outside. Sparco brackets are really expensive. Any other options out there? I didn't see seat brackets being a complicated part but I guess they are. Thanks

which Sparco seats did you pick up? Seats are something you don't to cheap out esp due to safety reasons.

i got Sparco Evo ii on planted seat mount ($140 ea side) along with sparco double locking slider ($100 ea side) plus sparco side mount bracket ($80 ea side). the side mount i have have a lot of mounting holes therefore you can set how much tilt, recline, low, high the seat you want it to be.

pros
- the best thing about planted seat mount is the quality.
- 3/16 inch thick steel hand solid welds, it couldn't be better for it's price.
- sits pretty low
- comes with seatbelt eyehole therefore you can use your original seatbelt reception
- varies of mounting holes for different seats other than sparco

cons:
- you have to bend one of the corner tab in order to fish through one of the floor bolt. no biggie
- this is normal but you'll noticed that you won't be centered with your steering wheel (towards the left). it doesn't bug me

if you want to fix the center with the steering wheel you're gonna need VAC motorsport billet seat mount. Mad expensive and can't use your oem seatbelt.

Pole Position, I appreciate your concern about the Planted bracket costs but JapanRot325ci is spot-on when he says that the Planted brackets are worth the cost. This place sells the Planted bracket for your E46 Coupe and I found that using the coupon code "planted-free-shipping" gets you free shipping on them:

You won't need the sidemount brackets for those particular Sparco seats, only the base bracket and (presumably) the sliders. BTW, it is noteworthy that Planted makes Sparco's brackets here in the US, so Sparco trusts them._nr_

I ended up going with wedge brackets with dual locking sliders. I ordered just the passenger first to try it out, as many complain about placement. The seats are right up against the center tunnel so no issues there, possibly they made changes. Just finished installing the drivers last night. Thanks for all you input everybody.
