So idk if this helps but I have a 05 325xi, I had 0491 and 0490 and was planing on euro tuning and sap delete and cat less headers, all from ebay. The plate arrived earliest so I threw on today with sap gone but stock headers and ebay special cold air intake and it clears all codes and boosted mpg to a 32 hwy and 28 in town. All ik was done before me was O2 sensors done at dealership and services aswell and schwab tires

When people remove the SAP, some get trouble codes and some don't. It seems to be a gamble. The problem with the Euro tune is that it completely disables the check engine light. Instead, you can use TunerPro to disable the SAP, without affecting the check engine light functionality.

I'm not sure if you have an M54 or M56, but if you have an M54 here's how I deleted my SAP in a DIY. It really wasn't difficult at all and I didn't do the euro tune.
He has ms45.1 so the procedure is different
OP’s 2005 325xi has M54 with MS43 DME. The XI models only had MS43 DME and never got the M56 engine.
Oh you’re right, this isn’t the first time I’ve made that mistake either, I always forget the xi’s didn’t have ms45.
