Two weeks after finishing rebuilding a 325cic for a friend’s daughter, she had someone swerve into her lane and overreacted, slamming the car into the median.

Totalled.

Her mom became a paraplegic in a car wreck, her dad died last thanksgiving in a wreck, and her brother was shot in March.

She is 19 and this stupid e46 was literally the best thing in her life. I am heartbroken.

Sorry to hear that. That is a sad story. Hopefully a sign that she's just about to turn a corner.

Did any airbag deploy? Are you going to do the work? How is the family financially? Is she going to set up a GoFundMe page?

Build her another E46 using parts from this car. Rebuildable (Overheated?) Cic's are a little harder to find, but they are out there. I looked at one near me, and it was too rusty.... Maybe she get's a sedan or a coupe (maybe harder to find) Yeah, it's a lot of work, but you can do it more quickly than the last time, and think of the how good it feels helping a young person in need......

The passenger airbag deployed. There really is no family, just her.

I am really tempted. My wife would kill me, but if I could find a ci or a cic then I can do the complete swap including interior in two weekends. The engine is completely refreshed with an M56 swap so it would be much easier

I believe the right frame rail sustained damage, so it is likely not rebuildable, which is too bad because I have a spare hood, spare fender, and spare front and rear suspension parts in my storage!!

I don't hang out here much, but I'm so sorry to hear. I'm in the bay for the time being if you need a hand. Thankfully everyone's okay (right?)

I got a good bid to straighten the frame, and I have a lot of parts, so I am going to go for it. If anyone has parts from this list I would be eternally grateful and would pay shipping. Big stuff I am praying for Bay Area local!

Car is pre-facelift convertible, so pre-facelift coupe will work.
