I was poking around in my engine bay the other day and came across a hollow, light-weight plastic piece with a rubber hose coming out of one end. I've never heard of or have seen this part before. I'm assuming its something vacuum-related. Anybody know what it is and what it does? It's located near the ICV under the intake manifold by the firewall and it's in the shape and size of the starter motor. Doesn't seem to be firmly attached to anything.

I don't see how it could. If you want to be sure then just plug the hole in the intake manifold (where the line from the canister goes)

Can we get a photo of this item & where to plug it?
