I cant find anyone that has ever done it. Always the other way around but I'm doing it because the motor is a runner and was available. Have some questions I will answer when I get to it unless someone on here knows about doing this swap. Like the fuel system plumbing with the SULEV engine and regular fuel tank. And not sure if I switch the ECU's with the motors or just do the re-pin procedure for the wiring.

The 2 motors are similar but the things attached to it is different.
It might be better to install the M56 and convert/swap the difficult bits. You can run it with compatible M54 DME.

M56 keepers
-valve cover (aluminum)
-intake manifold with plumbing
throttle body same size as m54b30
vacuum hose for brake booster is snap on
fuel vapor pipe is metal and bolts on manifold
-dipstick

The fuel line is metal all the way to the tank, same with the
fuel vapor line. It’s nice but the conversion would be time consuming.
I wanted to swap those 2 pipes to my car but I had no way to transport the long lines home from the salvage yard. I would plumb my own but no skills at the moment. Also, I have the old 2 line return fuel system.
