i can't unscrew the bolt that holds the shock in place. therefore i cannot get the spring either. anyway i can try to loosen the spring. i tried wd40 and applying more force cracked the wratchet bolt thingy. any tricks or tips. i finally got the fronts installed. help please

its the lower bolt the one that attaches the shock to the control arm. the nut is incredibly hard to unscrew. need something with more torque or leverage.

Or use a 12-15" pipe as a sleeve to the ratchet handle...works too.. :thumbup:

if you cant use a pipe to break the bar (which i used) loosen the bolt on the top of the shock mount inside the trunk (remove carpet) and it will drop down also.
