my dilemma...

its about that time when you've squeezed the last miles out of those balding rear tires, yet don't have the need funds for new rears.

a kind friend of the family has some slightly used rubber off a 540 sport...some 245/45/17s that he is willing to donate to me.

will that be ok for my 328ci right now, which is running the 245/40/17 setup in the rear? i know the tires will be taller, and i know that my speed/odometer will be slightly different/off, but it really shouldn't matter right? (or am i just kidding myself???)

some edu-ma-cated opinions would be greatly appreciated...maybe one from the moderator himself too.

Ok here you go:
With the stock setup your rear tires are 1.0% smaller than the front (overall diameter). With the setup you're considering the rear tires will be 2.8% bigger than the front.
Not a big deal if you ask me.
