I was curious what the maximum size wheel you could fit in the front and rear of the E46 M3 was? as far as 20 inch and 19 inch goes...height and width? thanks

19x8.5 and 19x9.5
19x9 and 19x10
19x8.5 and 19x10...
they all work, some people even runs 19x10.5 at the rear...it all depends on offset..
you should run 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 at the rear or 285/30/19...
as far as 20s, basically same width and tire profile should be the same...245/35/20 and 275/30/20...

Dinan has wheels that ride 275 up front and 285 in the rear. The wheels are super light at 20 lbs a piece and are forged aluminum. I think they are the widest ones yet... 275 up front is unreal!!!!!

i kno this is a really old post, but i was wondering what offset would work w/ a 19x10.5 for rears on a e46 m3? would 42 work on stock susp and stock brakes? thanx

No, you need to run a lower profile when you increase the size of the rim. That's the stadard for "plus sizing" and not doing so will adversely affect the speedometer, acceleration, and possibly clearance.
