Powering my ICE?

803 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  CynicalWry
I have a small Cappuccino TX3 computer, a Xenark 700TSV touch screen, and a TV tuner amp on the way. I want to power all of this in my car. I was thinking about just getting a DCto AC power inverter that would hook into the Cig lighter and cutting off the end to tap somwehere. Where would I connect the end to? Should I buy a amp kit like one would use for subs and just connect it that way? Any other suggestions for powering my system? Thanx.

i wouldn't suggest anything. If i were you, i would get power backup for the computer. So everytime you turn off your car, your computer will be on standby. Thus, won't have to waste time booting up.

a power backup for the computer? You mean an UPS? I run those in my house for my computer, but how in the world would I wire that? Those things are so big and heavy, where would U put it? The batteries don't even last that long, so standby would eventually die... plus, when they loose their power, they automatically beep to warn you they don't have power.
