My 2002 330cic air bag light was on due to a passenger door air bag fault. Did some research and seems the air bag connector is the culprit. I changed the locking tab and now the air bag light is off.
Below is a picture of a good locking tab and a bad one. It seems the 2 broken thongs do have a purpose when connected to the wire harness. If your have an air bag door fault, it might not be the airbag itself---but the locking cap in the connector.
