Thats it? Thats all what the code said? You have 4 o2 sensors. I would expect a fault code reader would at least tell you which O2 sensor it is.

Anyways... most problems are the pre cat O2 sensor. You can either replace both of them or wait till the fault comes back, scan it with a much better reader, and replace either or even both O2 sensors.

Interesting experience you had with the Redline Fuel Cleaner. I pour them into my tank right before filling it up though.

thanks for the response bmw guy, it was bank 1, sensor 1 which is supposely the location. are these sensors on the pre cat? or somewhere else. how much do 02 sensor cost? and are they difficiult the replace at home? if there is a DIY on it can you point me in that direction. thank you
Yes they are on the pre cat which is also on the exhaust manifold. Its easy to replace the bank 1 sensor 1 (Precat O2 sensor). I dont know how much O2 sensors cost for that part but I know it can be over $100.00. I think you need a special o2 sensor wrench/tool to replace it. You can also remove it with a 22mm crowfoot type wrench.

Make sure you spray some Wd40 on the fittings before you remove it. You may have to remove the smog air pump to get easy access to the precat o2 sensor.
