hello, i was wondering if anyone had gotten this code before. i never had any problems with my bmw, but just recently i had decided to try a fuel system cleaner since i have never used one before. Reading a couple forums i decided that redline fuel cleaner was the one. Well, a quarter into the tank i had the service engine soon light come on. So, i drove to the local autozone and checked it out myself. The fault code P0130 had shown up. since this was a 02 sensor circuit malfunction. i figured that it might just be a circult error that just malfunctioned today and maybe it was just a rare occassion. anyhow i was wondering if anyone else had gotten this code after they had used redline fuel cleaner and if this is a major issue that i should address.
I just also want to add a review of the product. I feel that redline fuel cleaner is very harsh on our cars. Maybe because our cars hold only 15 gallons of fuel and supposely you need to mix the redline product with 20 gallons. anyhow ever since i poured it in i get a ticking noise coming from inbetween the intake maniford and the head. i did feel worried, but after doing some research, most of the members of e46.com had said that it was normal. well i still felt that something was somehow wrong because it sounded like the car need a valve adjustment. anyhow i decide that i should first dilute the fuel which contained redline. i went out and pumped 4 gallons of regular figuring that this might have less additives and would dilute the mixture in the car. well when i got back home, popped the hood and took and listen to the car. amazingly enough the ticking noise had diminished. I had never tried the techron product yet. But after this experience i dont think i will be putting anything that doesn't have a bmw product label on it.
