Driving an 05 330i ZHP and wanting to confirm the correct Oxygen sensors and see where everyone has found them for the best price. Car is at 170,000 miles and figured it was time to preventatively replace them.

Downstream Bosch 15680 and 15681
Upstream Bosch 17215 and 17216 (I've heard 17215 works for both?)

The cheapest I've found is amazon at around $120 each for upstream and ~$80-90 each for downstream. Anyone found them cheaper elsewhere?

I've been searching also and far I've found Amazon to be cheapest as well. Same for ignition coils.

In my opinion, you should put this money to items that are more like to fail. O2 sensors last a long time and hardly fail, in the case they do, replace them then. I don’t see the need to “preventatively” replace them. Unless every other aspect and worn component on your car has been replaced and is brand new.

I was reading these tend to not fail but slowly deteriorate causing low gas mileage. I could definitely be wrong about that though. At 170k miles I would think they might warrant replacing since I’ve covered just about all other preventative maintenance I can think of except a fuel pump.

I mean, anything is possible of course. But if you are averaging about 17-19 mpg with combined heaving city and occasionally highway driving. Your car is doing good.
I guess you can follow everyone else’s advice on the best prices. But as long as you are not in the low teens of MPG and you are driving like a normal person. I think you are fine.
I get around 18 mpg, and I drive in a lot of traffic. I have 330ci that just passed 150000 miles 2 days ago. I reset my MPG meter, and even with me beating on the car, I’m averaging 15-16 mpg, and that’s that I’m running rich on decel to shoot some flames . And that’s 16 mpg with strictly driving like a mad man, no calm city or highway driving lol. Now I’m back up to 18. On the highway, I can average low 20s MPG.

If my o2 sensors are good. Yours should be too. I’d replace that fuel pump and fuel filter first.

You may be right, I’m still averaging around 24-25 mpg mixed driving. Filter was done but the pump is definitely going to be done soon. Not wanting to get stranding anywhere

Psh, your golden man. Fuel pumps are expensive so yeah, put money towards that. Some cars can be picking on sensors. So stick with OEM quality like BOSCH and I would change those ONLY when necessary. Not trying to burst your bubble , goodluck.

Less than 12. Now it ranges from 14 and up depending on how hard I am on the gas
