I recently changed the rear diff fluid on my 2002 325Xi. When I changed it I didn't have the car level so I'm pretty sure that I overfilled it. Now I'm getting a leak from the Pinion Seal area. I'm not sure if my overfilling did this, and if it will stop when the fluid level gets back to normal levels. Does anyone have any experience with this? The leak is fairly small. I'm getting a 1/2inch sized circle under it when I park.

Right. If the fluid is too high, it will leak out past the input flange seals. I don't think a little extra fluid is anything to worry about but it's also easy to fix.

Just jack the car up again on a flat surface. Remove the fill plug and then lower the car all the way back down for a couple minutes. That will allow the excess fluid to drain out of the fill hole so, obviously put a container under the diff to catch the fluid. Jack it back up and replace the fill plug.
