I’m trying to replace my sensor and notice there’s a bit of oil on it.
Heating up the manifold as so far it’s not budging.
Wondering where the oil could be coming from.
I Think So. he should double check this, as far as i know there are 3 main reasons,it is absolutely unequivocally your valve cover or gasket. The covers have been known to morph (despite being plastic) / crack and leak downward that way. Theres nothing else that would cause this without being evident elsewhere
Someone actually read the posts.Since OP said he already replaced the VCG, but he didn’t say that he cleaned everything once he was done. Could be residual left after the VCG replacement.
No real need to torque then down... Make it snug. Now I need to find the tightening torque setting.
Done. Runs good!No real need to torque then down... Make it snug.
The heat shield above the exhaust manifold begs to differ.I’ve wiped the area clean so if there’s fresh leaks I should be able to find them.
That's what I cleaned off (I just didn't post a post-cleaning picture) and so far it seems to be staying clean. I'm hoping the new gasket did the trick. The heat shield above the exhaust manifold begs to differ.
Please read above posts. It is possibly leaking from the valve cover gasket due to old age. Replacing it is quite easy.
The valve cover, the only place that can replicate a leak like that short of a rod going to the moon, even then it's a stretch it would get over and up on the heat shield.Wondering where the oil could be coming from.
The flack is for answering without bothering to see if it had been answered.Dave your thread makes no sense.
Oil on O2 sensor
That's the title, Oil on the o2 sensors? Ok so what?

Were you needing suggestions on breaking free the seized, oil covered O2?
Is this a blog entry or a solicitation for help? - I'm asking because you're giving people flack for answering your original question
Thanks.
