I just finished mine this weekend and google search yielded16ft/lbs which it what I used. It actually sent you back here to this site.

 

I just do it till it's "snug". Been doing it that way since I bought the car new and it's never leaked or come loose.

I think too many people crank down on those things and cause themselves problems later.

 

Me too. I snug it up and it's always been good.

Oil pan bolt is not the same thing as the drain plug.

 

Indeed. Since this is an oil filter housing thread, it doesn't make sense why mango would tell us about the oil pan bolts. I thought he might have been talking about the drain plug.
