Seafoam User Reviews and Experiences

Well I have been considering doing it lately, and I know its a cheap and easy way of helping maintain the longevity of our cars. So I am hoping to get thread full of experiences, tips, thoughts, etc.

The concept seems reasonable, but the process of pouring liquid into the intake scares me. Mess up and pour in too much of the stuff too quickly and you risk bending connecting rods since liquids don't compress like air. Kinda like self induced hydro-lock.

Works great. I use it before every other oil change. It gets a lot of crap out. I don't put it in the intake. Rather I use about half the bottle through the brake booster line while I have someone hold the car's RPMs at 2000. Then pour 1/4 into the crankcase, then another 1/4 into the gas tank. Stuff does wonders, and takes out a lot of crap.

Exactly what I do. I love getting rid of carbon.

If I put this into the intake...I would just pour it through the air filter? So, I could just very slowly pour a can of it in my intake and not hurt anything right?

No. you have to bypass the MAF sensor(and any other sensors), that's why people use the brake booster hose for the e46.

I used it on my old Isuzu Rodeo. Can't tell the difference. I use it to think I can clean the cat converter..Passed smog..so maybe it worked.

And if I pour this into the gas tank, would I still ruin my oil and o2 sensors?
people have said no, but think about it, all that THICK nasty smoke going through the o2s' - i bet it screws them up. Id be careful.

(did it to a friends mx6, make sure you have a beer for the smoke show)
