One of the main questions about which wheels to put on has to do with size. People wonder, should I go with 17", 18" or 19"?

So we can use this thread to get an idea of what our cars look like with 17" wheels and what we have to do to make them fit.

If you aren't sure if you want to get 17", 18" or 19" then check out this 17" thread and also the 18" and 19" threads linked here.

For those who have 17" wheels please post pictures, list the specs of the wheels/tires as well as the modifications (if any) to the fenders.

Example:

Wheel Specs:
17x8.5 et 35 front
17x8.5 et 35 rear

Tire Specs:
Achilles ATR Sport 245/35-17 front
Achilles ATR Sport 245/35-17 rear

Fenders:
Rolled fenders. Shaved fenders. Pulled fenders. Widened fenders (mm or inches)

Deciding on wheels

New guy here. I've been thinking of gettin 17's on my car and am hoping to achieve almost this exact look. I have found a set of wheels 17x8.25 et25.

My questions are.

1. Will this offset suit what I am looking to achieve.
2. What size of tire will would be recommended so that I do not have to worry too much about them popping on potholes. I am hoping to go low profile.
3. How much would I need to lower my car to achieve this look while being easy on my tires from fender or any other type of scratching.

NOTE that I am new to these forums so if I say anything stupid please take it easy. I'll get it. Plus I kinda rushed to write this so...thanks in advance for the help!

No idea why the picture is upside down. I'm working on my ipad. Sorry
Its upside down because your iPad thinks you're in Australia...

Fenders rolled, and slightly pulled in the rear.

Not the greatest picture, and it was right after installing a Street Edge coilover kit. Front still has to settle, and has almost another inch left to lower on the adjustment on top of that, so take that as you may. Rear Springs are just a tad lower than stock spring height, I wanted to let the front's settle before I adjust all over.

17 x 7.5 et40 Sport Edition F6 wheels all around, with 5mm spacers on the rears.
New Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2 tires (225/45/ZR17) all around (a week old at this point lol)
And, as said, sitting on a freshly-installed, as-of-yet-to-settle, Street Edge coilover kit.
Stock everything else, fenders untouched. I know I'm not nearly as aggressive as everyone else that's posted. I'm gonna go down maybe another inch when all is done, and that's as far as I intend to. Just how I like it :)

your car is how im setting my 330i right now ( twins  )... I wanna have my 68m wheels poke with minimum stretch so i'll be adding spacers once my raceland ultimos arrive.

i bet i'll have to get high mm spacers since the OE offset is
Front Offset 41
Rear Offset 50
:tsk:

i hope i can get poke which is like et15 :banghead:

Hi guys,

I want to put 17s bbs reps as the pictures shown. But where i live, streets are not good. I want to put some tall tyres for not braking them everytime.... Standard height for now. Wich offset and with should be the rimms, and what tyre do you recon it can look good, being a bit taller than common? I domt want any fender rolling....

I originally had 19x8.5+40, squared, with 235/35 but there was just no way to get them to sit flush and still be as low as I wanted. Tire width is a lot more limited at 19" than 17" or 18". In order to get the flush and low look that I wanted I had to ditch the 19's I had.

So I picked these up last October for a rock bottom price and refinished them.
Wheel/Tire Specs:
BBS RC090 "Style 5's"
17x8 +20 squared (Final: +10 front, +5 rear)
Firehawk Indy 500 205/40/17

Suspension/Fendors:
ST Coilovers, fronts are maxed :)() rears still have 3-4 threads.
Rolled rear fenders, no pull

After having these, though, I think my next set pf wheels will, ideally, be 18x8.5/9.5 and that should be a perfect fit for my suspension.
