  • Raise front, secure on jack stands.
  • Open bleed screw and ET cap
  • Add coolant AS SLOWLY AS POSSIBLE into expansion tank until it reaches top of bleed screw opening. (By adding coolant very, very slowly little to no air gets trapped and you won't waste coolant out the bleed hole waiting for air bubbles to stop.)
  • CLOSE BLEED SCREW & DO NOT REOPEN AGAIN
  • Remove excess coolant from expansion tank with turkey baster to set correct level per the diagram on the Expansion Tank. The float should bob freely up and down and the rim of ET opening should be between the two bulbs on float. The coolant level will be about 6 or 7 inches below rim of ET.
  • Close ET cap.
  • Run engine at idle while monitoring actual coolant temps (not gauge on dash). Use the Hidden Test Menu if you don't have a smartphone app or scanner.
  • Engine should get to 97C to 99C max at idle. Rev it a few times while idling. If it goes over 99c shut it down.
  • Also run heater to confirm there is good heat.
  • Shut engine and when it has cooled completely, remove ET cap and check level. Add coolant if needed.
Never open the bleed screw with engine off as that will pull a big air bubble back into the system.
