I need to change my brake pads soon, i am wondering what brand does BMW use and what is a good aftermarket brand?

Keep in mind that i am from Australia... so im assuming not all brands suggested will be available. So im just after the popular/common ones for regular everyday easy driving... no track use.

Don't know who makes pads for BMW but I recently changed my E46 rear pads to PBR Original Deluxe. These pads use to go under the names Repco or Axxis and they are very popular amongst E36 owners. They are very good street pads with much less dust compared to OEM. And guess what, they are made in Australia so you should have no problem finding them.

lhuy2733,

There are several different brands of pads out there. I have used EBC 'Green Stuffs' and they did a good job at reducing the amount of brake dust compared to what the OEM pads make, and they perform about the same, if not a bit better than the stock pads.

For EBC brakes visit: http://www.ebcbrakes.com.au

Most Australian BMW owners are at the regional forums such as DTMPower.net: http://www.dtmpower.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=37

Check it out, maybe they can provide more info about aftermarket pads.
