I'm trying to put my 2006 E46 conv back in shape with everything original (costly). One of the issues I have is with the head unit screen. It's working well but the eject button is not responsive and the screen doesn't tilt open.

I managed to lift it open manually with the unit switched off. When I switched it back on, the motor closed the panel and I'm back to the same problem, with a CD inside and the screen panel still not moving.

I looked everywhere for previous similar issues but couldn't find anything. Did anyone ever experience this? I'm trying to save the head unit as everything else is working fine.

I had this happen once ... gentle pressure helped get it moving again. Push/pull as appropriate in the direction it should be moving. Problem didn't come back. I've since replaced it with a Dynavin as it was having other issues.
