I finally picked up our 2003 325ti tonight - it's been a long affair but we're so glad to finally have it. :) So anyway, the Safety Certificate is a waste of paper as I noticed that one of the number plate lights on the hatch/tailgate is not working.

Anyone know how you get at the bulb? Is it a matter of prying off the lens/cover or does the whole lighting assembly have to come off?

just a matter of gently prying!

Welcome to the forum by the way! I haven't seen you post before!

post some photos of the car when you get a chance. Don't see too many 325ti's around here.

Thanks for the info and the welcome infini. Just answered my own question by looking in the owners manual - d'oh!

The car needs a bath and vacuum and then a good polishing etc. I should have photos up by the end of the week. Love it.:woot:

You won't believe it. I very carefully prised out the lens only to have it pop out, miss my catch and fall on the garage floor...wrong way up of course, thus breaking off the little plastic lug that retains the lens.:banghead: Ordered a new one today.

I've put some of today's pics up in this thread. Glad to be part of the BMW experience. http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?p=13440915#post13440915
