-my thoughts lean toward the BOSCH but is there a big difference between the standard water pump and the "mechanical" one listed right after it?

I think what you're looking at is the Bosch with either a standard composite material impeller or with the metal impeller. It is a matter of opinion about which is better and most will accept that the standard composite is fine for our purposes - good enough to last ~100K miles.

thanks, the mechanical one is only a few bucks more...i'll probably just go that route.

When I replaced mine, I put a Stewart pump in. Costs more up front, but it's the last one that has to go in.
