The battery was 35 months old albeit with low mileage. The Alternator has less than 1700 miles on it. We're in our coldest season here now with temps dipping below freezing last month. I don't drive very much so neglect is my biggest contributing factor to ageing a battery before its time. I may get in the habit of slapping the charger on it once a week for a few hours throughout winter. In the summer, I have a solar charger I can plug into the cigarette lighter port.
I've had batteries last me years or only a few months. Even on those smart trickle chargers.

Sometimes they just poop on you no matter how good a battery it's supposed to be.

Biggest thing is where you buy it and the warranty. I want hassle free replacement if it craps out without paying anything.

So... that usually means going to auto zone for me. I use summit racing too. But auto zone they register the battery with your phone number so if it craps out under warranty you can go to any auto zone and just say.... gimme another battery please!

Your other option for a budget solution is to buy a refurbished battery at Interstate. They are usually about $65. Comes with a 90 day warranty.

I’ve had several last at least 6-7 years in a bunch of different cars.
Lkq junk yard near me offers free batteries for life. You buy the first one for 60 bucks I think. Then anytime it dies you go back and they will keep replacing it for free.

Huh? Those are $139 here in the PNW.

Probably has gone up like everything else! Double checked with the person who purchased the battery last night and I was off by 10 it was 99 at the time came out to just under 115 out the door. Still at 139 now way cheaper then 200 everybody else is charging!! Had a friend I sent over buy a h8 for his Audi in Nov and at the time the price was 104.. Inflation sucks!!

That is inexpensive.

How well do they hold up?
Looks like from others price has gone up to 139 still way cheaper!! Haven’t had one fail in the 5 my friends and I have purchased in the last 3 years. They have the standard 3/5 national warranty. The only problem you run into is since they do not come up on internet search’s the batteries are generally at least a few months old. Last one in Dec. was 6 month’s. Just charged for 2 hours and ready to go..
