I'd been writing to them for years to change the color to match my Fern Green. Now that my car is gone, they make it green. Sheesh!

Anyway, when you mix them, do they make a nice Turquoise Blue?

 

Heard of them way back in 2018 using " new formulation"green .I wonder why .Did they really improve on their factory fill formula or just went mainstream to keep manufacture cost down....I wonder.???
Then again they said auto tranny fluid was lifetime ....

 

I'm a curmudgeon of sorts and resist change. I likely will be buying the Pentofrost NF Blue coolant to be used going forward on the older cars.
First I needed 4 kinds of ATF, then it was 5 kinds of engine oil.
Now add two types of coolant. MF'ers.

...and the 4 liters of fluids I need in my f30 cost $450. Two diffs, trans, and transfer case...and some sort of fluid transfer pump! There's no drain in the transfer case, so another 'lifetime' fluid--bmw really doesn't want its cars going as long as they can. Exploring alternative non-OE fluids, but probably will stay OE.

 

I find good deals on unopened BMW blue coolant concentrate for $15-$20 per gallon jug on facebook, craigslist, etc..usually from fellow DIY'ers. I probably have 4-5 jugs now, maybe I'll load up some more.

 

Sigh. I just ordered four gallons of the old blue stuff from ECS. That should keep the E46 and MINI going for a while.

 

poor E46 getting older and older by these changes.
so the green is compatible with the blue, but not all greens. HT-12 works with G48. geez going to have to make up rhymes to remember this crap.

 

This is why I just switched to getting Zerex G48 directly.

$18/gal at O'reilly auto. Or you could get it at a Tesla or Volvo dealer since they both still use it as factory fill.

 

A summer ago (while just scouting around) i think it was AutoZone who was discontinuing the Pentosen NF...in addition the store manager printed a sale sign of $1 for a concentrated gallon... had maybe 15 bux in my pocket...I bought them out!

BMW Blue coolant is zerex G48. It can be bought at normal O'reilly auto. It's not going anywhere.

 

beware, i used g48 in my m3 last week and it was green. i threw a fit and contacted valvoline who said the formulation is correct.

 

Searching for the Pentosin NF, I noticed a white bottle and a grey bottle, the shape of the bottle is also different and they both say NF, anyone know the difference, Don ??

I think just a bottle color change? White = old stock?
