Looking for a shop recommendation for my rencently-purchased 2003 325iT 5MT.

Not needing specific work done atm, but would like to start establishing somewhat of a rapport with a good local shop.

I realize a good mechanic is a good mechanic, but as I've found with my Audi, even though I tend to do my own work, a good "BMW specialist" might worth looking for.

Any experiences with the local BMW service centers?

I'm trying to stay on the west side of HWY-217 in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area.

Thanks in advance for your insights and opinions.

I've been recommended Futrell Autowerks in Beaverton. Haven't used them yet though.

I went to AR Auto Service for my subframe repair and clutch replacement. I Was very happy with their work. They build and do a lot of major BMW work. Check them out, they are on Boones Ferrry Road.

I had AR Auto Service on Boone's Ferry do a bunch of work on my 2001 E46 Touring with 160K on it. I was very pleased with the work and they were at a fair price.

AR Auto Service in Lake Oswego. Even when I lived in Hillsboro I still took my cars there. They do all the work on all our cars (E92 M3, E46 M3 Track Car, Miata Track car, Subaru Impreza daily).

Call and ask for Martin or Gabe when you need stuff done. They are the best BMW shop in Portland, hands down. There's a reason most clubs use them for track-day support.
