So yeah, I got a new shift knob with an interior kit I purchased. I've installed all of the trim but I cannot remove the knob. It appears that the car's previous owner decided that he would use a silicone adhesive to reattach the knob, thus making it impossible to remove with a hearty tug.
I'm at a loss, short of replacing the shifter (something I eventually want to do, but not now) I don't know how to remove this thing. I would prefer to remove the knob without destroying it (I'd like to bundle it with the rest of the kit for resale), but I'm not adverse to destructive means if there aren't any other reasonable options.
Any suggestions?
