I was able to update the auto trans with winkfp daten 53.3 took about 2mins to flash and wow what an improvement. No more jerking coming to a stop even in manual mode(3rd-2nd), shifts are smoother. It's been a week of observing all is good.

Had a little problem when updating DME after updating trans. I was wondering if some files are not correct?? I updated winkfp using BMW coding tool to add the E46 files. Any advice pls.. Was using a battery charger with 10amps.

How to Flash a Specific ZUSB

There are cases where you want to specify the ZUSB (assembly) number to program, rather than letting WinKFP choose it for you.
Here are some common reasons:

• You're flashing in EU2 software to turn off SAP and post-cat O2 sensor support.
• You swapped a 330 engine into a 325 and need to flash 330 software.
• You want to flash in different software to try it out.

The process for doing this in WinKFP is slightly different than doing a straight update to the latest ZUSB.
Follow the same process in the previous post, but replace steps #6 through #9 with these:

6. Click "Choose ZUSB" and you get a box displaying ECU families and their available ZUSB numbers.
7a. Choose your specific ECU family, choose the ZUSB number you want to program, then click Ok.
7b. Click "Enter VIN", paste or type in the car's entire VIN, then click Ok.
8. Click "Done", which goes back a screen.
9. Click "Program", and the update begins.

Correct. I still run cats so it wouldn't even matter for me. Plus there's nothing to flash anyway for me

Yeah, that one looks correct. There are lots of vendors selling the exact same Chinese-made cable like that one. So just pick one that is cheap with free shipping from a location nearby.

You'll likely need to solder together pins 7 and 8 before you use it.

Didn't notice any big improvement on engine with update within a week of driving. My main issue was the transmission shifting harsh coming to stop which is fixed now :thumbup:

It's not clear if that includes the BMW Standard Tools software or not. If it does they probably don't want to advertise that as it's always pirated.

Yeah, no problem. We can check your current version, see if an update is available, and update it if you like. Weekends are best.

As for the alarm, have you done the entire retrofit? If you know which checkboxes to turn on in PA Soft BMW Scanner 1.4, we can do that.
