Got the HVAC & carpets out and started to pull & label all the harnesses and sensors, etc.

Pulled the brake booster off the firewall and all the harnesses are loose and ready to feed into the cabin. Still have to remove rear brake lines and the fuel system.

This should be in the dumb question thread - but what are these ground locations or places to pin out the harness? 🤔

Kinda both. They are ground splices, but the individual wires can be removed from the "comb" if it makes it easier to pull the harness.

That’s what I thought, they aren’t an issue when I pull out the harnesses, was just curious. Thx

Just removing all the trim in the trunk/hatch area for my first time - boy there is a special place in hell for the team that designed this…. What a PITA to remove!

Wagon is a 2000 so it has OBD plug in the cabin and the big round early gen OBD port in the engine bay. I didn’t like the fact that some codes/details I could get from cabin port and others I had to interrogate from the engine bay.

So right or wrong I decided to upgrade everything to the ‘04 setup from the donor.

Interior stripped and all harnesses released. Tomorrow I pull the headliner and then I’ll start feeding the exterior legs of the harnesses into the car.

All the plastic on the hatch exploded when I touched it - so brittle from Florida sun!

Had to take a few days off with a grumpy back…

Pulled the fuel pump today and pumped out the last gallon or so of gas in the tank. With some judicious use of WD-40 a 3# hammer and a pry bar, was able to coax the big locknuts off of the tank. Was afraid I was going to have to cut them off.

Completely reasonable IMO.

What are you going to do with the old chassis harness?
