I'm 23 and have a 02 330CI and it is way nicer than my bosses car. I have been reluctant to drive it to work bc I feel that my co-workers and especially my boss might get envious and not like me or something? What u think I should do, I know its sort of a dumb question, just needs some psychological help here! Thanks!

Who cares that you drive a nicer car then he does. Presumably he makes more then you, but perhaps his priorities are in different places. He may have a 7,000 square foot home....

It's not as simple as being yourself. The reality is cruel and you must accept it. Sometimes driving too nice of a car to work will make your superiors think they're paying you too much. When an oppotunity for promotion arises, you might be the loser there. Not everyone's boss is like that but in the real world you can't be so naive.

I think you shoudn't drive such a nice car to work. yes, you have the right to do it and be proud of your whip, but there will be some resentment from co-workers and even your boss. Just leave it for the weekends, IMHO. I leave the coupe at home and take an ok car to work. Not a hassle for me, and less troubles overall. It can't hurt to try and fit in at work to a certain degree. This wouldn't be going out of your way too much, so I think you should give it a go. Although now people will be wondering what happened to your whip....

i work at my dads office and sometimes i take the m3 on deliveries when my mom's restaurant next door is short :yikes:

explains why i get like 20 cents tip.

i can guess that those of you who are saying the cliched 'who cares what others think' have not worked in a corporate environment.

and it's not only about the 'oh, we must be paying you too much' thing, within corporate culture there are certain unspoken rules, by being a young kid who drives a nice car, there is no way your more experienced, older co-workers and especially your superiors are not going to think of you in a more negative fashion... yes, it is bs, but it's true whether we like it or not.

as for me, i'm 24, i currently drive a 2000 civic si, while my boss (engineering mgr.) drives an old ford escort (!) and his boss (director of mfg.) drives an 88-89 mazda mpv minivan (!!!). imagine when i drive up in the 330ci once it comes in...
