Hey All..

I'll be gettin my first Bimmer ~ 3/12/03 (325IC w/ Premium, Sport, & HK). Have been considering numerous performance Mod's but am concerned about voiding the warranty.

Does anyone know what BMW's policy is w/ aftermarket Modifications? Is there any tolerance?

A mod voids the warranty on a component or system only if the mod caused the failure of that component or system and the dealership can prove it. In reality, you may or may not be hassled depending on how tolerant your service writer or service department is of mods. I have had control arms and bushings replaced under warranty even though I had UUC swaybars and brakes on my car.

ac-schnitzer, since the BMW dealerships sometimes sell their cars off the lot with ACS packages

Um ... No. ACS is a tuner, they do not provide gap coverage for BMW warranties (a la Dinan).

Of course, like the other poster said, if you get an ACS suspension kit and the ABS system on your car fails, the OEM BMW warranty should still cover the brake problem.
