M12 drill /tap is pretty large for this engine.. I have seen M11 threads tapped...once.

Your best bet is to install steel M10 x1.5 time-serts ..22.5mm in length and use ARP studs of same thread.

Use time-sert kit 1090 to install the time-serts in a B30...It has a drilling/ tapping jig specific to the B30.

You COULD use the Big-sert M10x1.5x22.5 in the B30, but I only install Big-serts when a regular time-sert fails - almost never unless installed incorrectly. I think Big-serts are overkill in your application.

The Big-sert kit is Time-sert 1090BS

I aiming for above 10 pounds of boost would the big sert kit still be overkill?

I'll let others opine on that, I don't have direct experience with a boosted M54...Although I don't recall reading about any boosted M54 failing with regular time-serts and studs installed.

Big-serts are stronger than regular time-serts, although you need to remove more material from the block to install Big-serts, potentially weakening the block ..For that reason, I only use them as needed.
