the blocks are the same; so whatever pistons/rods go with that crank would also work in the B25

 

As said above, the actual blocks are identical in dimensions and will accept either combo of crank/rod/piston

The M54B30 is essentially a stroked M54B25 - diff crank, rods, and pistons (I believe) which add 0.5L of displacement.

I would like to know how they stroke a B30 another 0.4L-0.5L...because the piston is already near the top of the cylinder....maybe custom rods and and pistons, along with a new crank allow them to increase the stroke even further.

Here it is for $7,000.... And to get the extra 0.46L of displacement, you have to bore the cylinders an extra 2-3mm , which is more $$$...

Okay, thank you. Seems like more work than whats its worth for a NA build. Will probably just use a lightweight assembly for a 3.0 then!

 

Whilst I've not looked into the minute details. most usually when they stroke a block, the pistons are different.
The placement of the wrist pin is in a different location.

From what I've read, the head and block on both the 2.5 and 3.0 are the same, so if I were to swap the internals it would essentially just be a 3.0, which leads me to believe that the kit would work if it works on a 3.0
