Saw online a crank for sale that strokes a m54b30 to a 3.4/3.5l and was wondering if that crank would work at all in a m54b25. If custom pistons are needed, that's okay, just wondering if it would work in the 2.5l. And if it does need custom pistons, would anyone know the spec needed. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Should work, but I would be asking questions.

The M54B30 is essentially a stroked M54B25 - diff crank, rods, and pistons (I believe) which add 0.5L of displacement.

I would like to know how they stroke a B30 another 0.4L-0.5L...because the piston is already near the top of the cylinder....maybe custom rods and and pistons, along with a new crank allow them to increase the stroke even further.

EDIT:

Here it is for $7,000.... And to get the extra 0.46L of displacement, you have to bore the cylinders an extra 2-3mm , which is more $$$...

Okay, thank you. Seems like more work than whats its worth for a NA build. Will probably just use a lightweight assembly for a 3.0 then!
