I've always thought (even heard) that the E46 M3 has the most powerful 6 cylinder, naturally-aspirated motor (without any forced induction, of course) until my brother-in-law called me to tell me that he just got into a race with a brand new Porsche 911 GT3. When I did the research, it looks like the M3's motor was dethroned by the more powerful 3.6L 380 HP (105.5 HP per liter). The M3 is 104 HP per liter, just 1.5 HP less per liter. Oh well, it was good to know that we were #1 for quite some time.

yes, 6 cylinder normally-aspirated motors (no superchargers or turbos). which Lotus Elise are you referring too? I don't know of any Lotuses that have that much power (106 hp per liter).

Exige has 190hp stock from 1.8L
S1 Elise S190 had the same engine I believe

and the new Elise S2 has 190hp 1.8L engine.

right I was missing 5hp. 265kW which = 355hp so that makes it 111/L

it used to be 2.0L so it was 120hp/L

now 2.2L so 109/L

Thats correct. The 111R elise as well as the S2 exige both have the 190hp Toyota 2ZZ-GE engine. Hopefully they will bring the exige to the US with a supercharger :drool: that their have been rumors about that will provide for alittle more power and a much higher price tag, and then you will have yourself a very nice high hp to L ratio. -Michael. :thumbup:
