Anyone with an e46 M3 ever notice a slight misfire or hesitation of the engine. I have an 03 with only 1,100 miles, purchased on 12/31/02. Occasionaly, I will feel a slight hesitation, or misfire. It usually happens under very light throttle conditions around 2,000-2,500 rpms. It is only a single occurance and then everything is OK. I have never noticed it under heavier acceleration and have not done any WOT since I am still in break-in period. Check Engine or EML lights have NOT come on.

It only occurs rarely, maybe once every 30-40 miles, but is definitely there. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Thanks

sounds like an SMG problem which I've heard happens at really low RPMs.

what I would do

If you tend to fill up at the same station.

Try another station and see if that helps?

Im sure its nothing and will be fine once your able to "smash on it" and let that baby rev out!

is it a random thing? i had something like that but it was much worse on my 325ci. mine ended up being a bad ignition coil, maybe its the start of a bad one for you or something. it was covered under warranty. just something to think about but to tell you the truth, its probably not that.. :dunno:

u may have water in your gas or condensation build up

get a bottle of brand DRY GAS and follow the directions...it has happened to me before in other vehicles but not the M3 and Dry Gas got rid of the problem once and for all

select a good gas station to pump into your baby... ...u'd be suprised how many of them get away with cheating you...:ben:
