I'm looking at a 1987 L7, sort of like a 735i with a luxury package.

I think this thing would make a fantastic commuter/highway cruiser. I have some 17" R compounds that would fit it too. I wonder if I can find the drivetrain from one of the old E23 745i turbos anywhere.

All I can offer is this: Avoid E32's like the plague. But that's not an E32, so no worries.

Under the hood, an E23 is the same as my old E28. The rear seat AC system adds some complexity but it all works right now.

If the automatic trans ever dies, I have a 5 speed manual in the corner of my garage.

Sweet car! My brother-in-law just got a 1988 528e, and it also is very clean. I love these older BMW's. My favorite though, would have to be the 1997-99 BMW 740i!! :thumbup:
