Customer step into with a beautiful M3 phenix yellow, 2001 S54B32.
The problem is that the customer had started to dismantle the vanos, cams and so on, and then he bring it in the workshop because he was worried to not correclty remount all.
Simple question: the cams are mixed up, without theethed ring on it. There is a way to precisely identify the intake cams and the exhaust cam? We're worried that they are NOT interchangeable (it is stated in this doc http://www.billswebspace.com/MS54B32TrainingModule.pdf)

Codes and marks are not useful as it seems.
We noticed that one of the cams have a lubrication ring just next the special tools hole.

Any idea?

The camshafts are marked:
A = Auspuf, exhaust
E = Ein, intake

Also the reluctor wheels on the back of the camshafts are different.

Exhaust camshaft:

Intake camshaft:

I would also replace the 6 bolts on each camshaft that hold the gears on. 12 in total.
