If I hold the unlock doors button, the windows will eventually open. On My Audi, if I held the LOCK button, the windows would eventually close. My BMW's windows don't close when I do this. Can I have that programmed or not?

Also, in the Audi, when I stopped the engine and removed the key, the doors would automatically open, which was convenient. In the BMW, I have to press the unlock button on the console, or pull the door lever twice. Can I have an automatic unlock programmed?

Lastly, if you have daytime running lights programmed on (which I do not) does the dash remian lit all the time? Again, on the Audi, the dash was always lit, which was a nice feature in less than perfect lighting conditions (going through a tunnel, driving in a parking garage, sun low in the sky, etc.)

Not that I miss my Audi... it fell apart after 75k miles... but I figure a BMW that costs 10k more should at least match the features.

actually in my audi S4 i had to purchase the VAG tool to get the windows to go up with the remote. It is a euro feature... So maybe also true with the BMW.

The dash had to be lit all the time, as you can't see anything if they were not.

The hold lock to put the windows up is a euro only feature.

Thank the lawers here in the US for making that feature unavailable for us.

As for the dash and the unlock feature I've not seen those documented anywhere in the BMW docs's I've read.

What you can do in the US though is put your key in the driver's door lock, turn it to the right twice, hold it and all the windows and sunroof will close, but you must hold the key until they close.

My daytime lights have just been turned on by the dealer and my dash lights DO NOT illuminate at all until I actually turn on the front headlights.

So I guess there is no workaround to get the windows to roll up with just pressing the lock button on your key huh? :dunno:

Actually guys I just contacted my local dealer and they said that you have to get that feature programmed--which allows you to roll-up the windows by pressing just the lock button on your key.

Quoted me a price of $30.00

I hope you guys are right as far as the windows up thing.I asked about it a few times and was always told you couldn't program it here in the USA,some kind of a safety thing.Do a search here and on the other BMW sites and you will find tons of information about it.
